A student council event called PLUS days was held at Peoria Sports Complex on Friday, April 24.

“PLUS days is a day with leadership activities, team-building activities, and just trying to unify everyone and see how the effects of working together and how important it is to have a really good bondage with your student council,” junior senator Lauren Whitenack said.

Student council high school members volunteered to help plan and preform activities with different elementary schools with student councils.

“This isn’t my first PLUS days event, but I really enjoyed it when I was an 8th grader,” Whitenack said. “Especially learning from the older kids too, it makes you want to try even harder to be successful in student council.”

At the event there is a motivational speaker and food passed around. After that the games and team bonding activities start.

“The elementary schools do a community service project on Thursday and at night have a keynote speaker and a dance the next day the high school student councils do team building activities with them,” advisor Patty Arkin said.
